My addiction: Sims 3
This game is taking up every ounce of my free time. It's easy to play yet it keeps a carrot in front of me to keep me going deeper. Before I realize it I'm micro-managing the lives of 6 or 8 little people (which on a side note how many people played the game Little Computer People?).
Creating Sims is as fun as ever with all the little tweaks on their appearance you can change. And the changes to the personalities is leaps and bounds better then the rpg-point style system of the last 2 games. (a Sims rpg expansion would be awesome btw. Create and manage the lives of villagers before they become dragon chow)
I have managed to find it endlessly fun to create an artist or musician sim. Staying at home and selling your art is a great way to make a living. I have managed to get a couple of Sims to the top of their career paths such as business and found it enjoyable too.
I don't have a rating system really as of yet. I don't want to use a number or letter scale as it's overused and I don't want to process that much data for you people. I love ya but it's not gonna happen.
Games are either worth playing, lame, or epic. So thats my new rating system I guess!
The Sims 3 is worth playing.

The Sims 3
So I picked up the Sims 3. I have played the last 2 games with casual enjoyment and was expecting the same experience from this latest installment. My First play session just lasted over 8 hours. No joke. I pulled my first video game all-nighter in over a year on the Sims.
It add a layer of detail that makes it fascinating. I won't bore you with all the detail about that stuff and the new game mechanics as you can find it elsewhere if it really interests you.
What I do wanna mention is the games goal system for your sims. The Sims 2 had desires that you could fulfil for rewards but not to the degree this game has. It's actually fun trying to fulfilll all your sims wants. Then every sim has lifetime goal for you to try and achieve.
All of the menial micro-managing has been taken away for the most part. You can help you sims improve their lives by clicking and interacting with their lives, but they won't die or pee themsleves all day if you don't.
To sum it up all the changes have made this game go from an appealing casual game (which it still is on the surface for those who want it to be that), to a game that can appeal to the "gamer" audience.
Thanks EA for sucking away my life for another 100 hours!
Keep your sims happy people!

Left 4 Dead 2
So by now everyone has heard all the news from E3 (the press conference with booth babes that crams a years worth of announcements into a single week. If only congress could adopt this type of information sharing scheme). Left4Dead's sequel was one of the most exiting announcements from it for me. 5 new maps sounds great. I like the daytime scenes in the trailer. I've seen some people complain because it's basicly the same game with some new things added.
Left4Dead=Awesome. Left4Dead+more stuff=more awesome.
And that's all I have to say about that for now.
Keep on killing zombies people!
