Is it just me or does planing a part 5 of a game to be released in 10 years a little over planned? If you wanna know the story read it over at Joystiq.
So they are planning to do more Fable games which is a good thing. I loved Fable and I am excited about Fable 2. I can see them starting on Fable 3 already. It's reasonable to say that they'll have enough success with Fable 2 to make another game and release it on a current platform. I just fail to see how you can start planing a game that's release date is in 10 years.
Why do I see a problem with planning Fable 5? Well for starters what if Fable 2 is a bomb? What if Lionhead goes belly up like the Hellgate guys? What if games are so different in 10 years the fable games aren't even doable? What if the next gen consoles are sooooo advantaged no one even wants to play something like Fable? How do we even know anyone will even care about RPGs in 10 years? What if Microsoft goes bankrupt? (along with Wal-Mart and McDonald's)
OK so maybe I'm just going overboard but I still think it's a little bizarre for them to come out and announce this.
Maybe it's just because I was hoping for a Fable Online.......

Is Live going free?

Recently Live for Windows has become a free service. This is great because no PC gamer is gonna pay money to pay games online (minus the 10 million people playing WoW of course). This news really didn't mean that much to me because I don't play any games that work with Live for Windows.
But wait there's more!
This morning a post went up on Kotaku saying that all the games that are free for windows users are now free on XBox live as well. Read the story here. Now this is becoming more interesting to me because I have a feeling that this is leading up to Live becoming totally free.
If live was a free cross platform (360-PC) gaming service then I would take notice and become excited. I have friends that are xbox gamers and I would love to be able to play with them. I would even consider buying a 360 if I didn't have to pay to play with my friends on it.
So my guess is that in a year from now Live will be free for everyone.
Game on people!

What I'm playing: Morrowind
So I have to admit that I don't have the latest and greatest in computers. I have a laptop that can't run most games made in the last 3 years.
So what do I spend my time playing if not the newest games? Easy: Old games.
My source of games are Game Tap and bargain bundles of the games of yesteryear.
My current obsession is the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. It's one of the most fun RPGs I've played. I love how immerse and open ended it is. Now I say that because most games aren't both. Either they have a great story your confined to, or you can do anything and the story is weak. In Morrowind you can do what you want and still have a great story.
Right now i'm playing as a monk working for the Morag Tong (the local assasin's guild) and its a lot of fun.

KOTOR MMO: Can Bioware compete with Blizzard?
OK, I'm gonna assume that you know the great games that these companies have made. I am not aware of either if these guys making a flop.
On the Blizzard side we have Diablo, Warcraft, and WoW.
And Bioware has Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect and KOTOR.
So as far as making good games goes Bioware has the stuff to compete.
I just wanna make this point here. Most hard-core RPG fans have played Diablo AND a Baldur's Gate Game . It is possible for both companies to share the market with RPGs. So the competition isn't so bad.
Now with MMOs most people don't play multiple ones at a time and if they do one will get much more attention then the other. MMOs are more then just "Is it a good game that I should play?" it's more like "Is this a game that I want to spend 30+ hours a week playing for the next 3 years?". MMOs are more then just pretty graphics and game mechanics.
MMOs are about 3 C's:
CREATION: People want to create their own character and become part of the world their in. If your spend 300 hours playing the same toon you want to feel like its yours. You want to be unique (just like everyone else).
COMMUNITY: Players want to be able to play with others. If the game doesn't allow or inter grate easy grouping and guild functions it's shooting itself in the foot. An MMO needs to feel alive. I started playing MMOs with SWG and I actually liked the game pre-NGE. But when that game overhaul came out everyone left the game. I was the only one left in my guild. I had no reason to play the game anymore. The world was empty. Any new MMO is gonna have a hard time competing with the feel of Stormwind on a busy night.
CONTENT: So you've got you character to the max level, now what? If people are gonna keep playing the game it needs to have content (good content) continuously coming out for it. This means that it needs new quests, dungeons, races classes, and other random things from time to time.
With all that said if a gaming company can compete with Blizzard in this market I have to say Bioware is the company to do it.

More Thoughts on Dark Knight
OK so I've had some time to mull over what i watched and my opinion is now............
THIS MOVIE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think I've enjoyed a movie this much since the Lord of the Rings.
I love the dark, gritty feel behind the movie. And I'm hoping the next one is just as good (according to Christian Bale it's gonna happen. Check out the story at slash film.)
This movie has earned it's place on my top 10.
Keep on saving Gotham people!

Dark Knight: Better then Iron Man?
OK so this summer i've seen two big movies. Iron Man and the Dark Knight. I have to say that Dark Knight was the better of the two. It's totally awesome!
Everything about the movies is great. The acting, story, sound, music, and just the whole feel of the movie are amazing.
If you haven't checked this out yet you need to.
It's set records for midnight opening box office sales. check out the story.
